Dear fellow CAPA members,
It is my great pleasure to announce that Professor Marilyn Bui at the Moffitt Cancer Center has been elected as the 18th president of the CAPA by the BOD, for the term of 2021-2022.
Dr. Marilyn Bui is an outstanding lifetime member of the Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) who has been actively involved in and led many CAPA activities for years. She served on the Executive Committee (2014-2018, 2020), the Education Committee (Chair 2015, 2020, Co-chair 2016), the Award Committee (2017) and the Career Development Committee (Co-Chair 2018). She is a frequent organizer and speaker of CAPA conferences representing CAPA nationally and internationally. She has a strong track record of mentoring young pathologists and promoting CAPA due to her association with various pathology societies and collaborators. She has significantly contributed to CAPA’s financial wellbeing in soliciting financial sponsorship and boasts the highest individual fundraising record. Dr. Bui received the CAPA Zu-Hua Gao Outstanding Service Award in 2016. Dr. Bui received her medical doctor degree from the Capital Institute of Medicine in Beijing, China, followed by completing her PhD in Molecular Pathology & Immunology, residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology, and fellowship in Cytopathology at the University of Florida, USA.
